About Miriam
Miriam brings a diverse background that has served the business and artistic communities for almost 30 years. An accomplished singer and performer in her own right, Miriam began her career as a vocal and performance coach which eventually led to a specialization in personal effectiveness and leadership development through cultivation of "authentic presence", communication, speaking and presentation skills. Her background in psychology, eastern philosophy, life coaching and related disciplines, extensive group work, a Masters Degree in Leadership Studies, advanced graduate certification in the Expressive Arts, as well as her keen intuitive gifts round out her resume. Her clients come from fields as diverse as the corporate and non-profit sectors, theater, law, education, small business, sales, communications, medicine, the arts, human services, the ministry and politics.
In 1993, Miriam was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia and underwent a bone marrow transplant from an anonymous donor that saved her life. Since then she has spoken nationwide about quality of life issues while living with cancer under the auspices of Rite of Passage Cancer Project, a non-profit organization she founded. She co-directed and produced a documentary film, From the Mouths of Babes, about families coping with childhood cancer and has helped raise thousands of dollars for cancer causes through her inspirational speaking.
